I’ve been skating since October, 2010. I’ve never seen Kansas City Bomber, and no, roller derby is not just like Whip It (but it is still a cute movie). I’ve been affiliated with the Orlando Psycho City Derby Girls, Orlando Area Derby Revolution and lastly Tampa Roller Derby. I hung the skates in October, although I’m coaching with Florida Junior Roller Derby. I teach all of the plow stops.
My biggest influences are Ina Garten, Nigella Lawson, and of course Nadia G.
I believe if you put good food into your body, you will get good out of it. This was mostly realized after trying to go to practice after hitting up Dollar Burger Night when I was fresh meat.
I hate the word ‘diet’. I love making food from scratch, recipes that have been passed down the generations, and anything that involves bacon. It’s my Southern roots.
I’m writing this blog not only for my friends that have been urging me to get back into writing, but for all of my teammates that have to hear me at practice saying, “Dude, I just made the best thing for dinner…”
Feel free to hit me up to talk about food, derby, or music. Let’s be friends.
Thanks for taking the time to read my musings.
Skate fast, turn left, and make great food,
